Thank you for your interest in a consultation. This policy applies to consultations provided by Winter Law Firm LLC (the “Firm”).

Consultations are legal services provided by the Firm to a client to help the client better understand their legal rights, obligations, and options concerning one or more legal issues that the client is facing (or may be facing).

Consultations at the Firm consist of a meeting (via videoconference, telephone, or in person) up to 60 minutes and a review by the Firm of documents up to 60 pages, provided that the documents are provided to the Firm no sooner than 48 hours before the meeting. At the meeting, and based on the client’s input and documents reviewed, the Firm will provide the client with options for action (or inaction) along with one or more recommended actions (or inaction). In other words, the recommendation of the Firm may include the client taking no action. The recommendation may also be conditioned on the gathering of additional information.

Though consultations establish an attorney-client relationship between the client and the lawyer (and Firm), that attorney-client relationship terminates at the end of the consultation unless the client retains the Firm for additional work. Consistent with Pennsylvania law, consultations are confidential.

The fee for consultations is $365.00, which is due to be paid in full before the Firm performs any work. The fee is earned upon receipt and will be deposited into the Firm’s operating account and not held in escrow on the client’s behalf. The consultation fee is a discounted rate from the Firm’s ordinary fees and includes all services described above. If the client retains the Firm for additional work within 45 days after the end of the consultation, the Firm will credit the client’s initial invoice with the amount paid for the consultation ($365.00). The client’s retaining the Firm for additional work requires the client and Firm to agree to an engagement agreement (via an engagement letter) and for the client to pay in full a retainer.

Thank you again for your interest in a consultation with the Firm. We look forward to working with you!
